LIFE PLATFORM MEETING ON CHEMICALS AND SEMINAR ON INDICATORS TO MEASURE IMPROVEMENT IN CHEMICALS MANAGEMENT

Conceria Pasubio on behalf of the LIFE GOAST project participated to the LIFE PLATFORM MEETING ON CHEMICALS AND SEMINAR ON INDICATORS TO MEASURE IMPROVEMENT IN CHEMICALS MANAGEMENT, held at Vilnius from 27 to 29 November 2019.

After the introduction and presentation of the event by the authorities, such as the Lithuanian Minister of the Environment, a member of the European Commission DG ENV, the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency), EASME (Executive Agency for Chemicals) the delegates attented the following workshops:

1. substitution of chemical substances, where we presented our LIFE GOAST project;-

2. eco-innovation for the reduction of production and use of dangerous chemicals;

3. evaluation of the impacts of chemicals on the environment and human health.

Further section focused at the "tools" for risk assessment, monitoring of the chemicals and an application for increasing awareness of SVHCs in consumer articles; then the meeting moved to discussion-workshops with the following targets:

1. "tools" for assessing hazards and exposure;

2. "tools" for supporting the management of chemical products;

3. "tools" on awareness.

The second part of the meeting aimed at improving the development of LIFE projects and optimization of their performance indicators, obtaining ideas and opinions for the management of chemical risk, behavior and awareness, implementation of measures to reduce environmental emissions, evaluation of socio-economic aspects and identification of the promoters of the change. Specifically, Conceria Pasubio presented our work on the indicators of the LIFE GOAST project, with the related evaluation and discussion of ideas from the workshop participants.
